Services

One plan, built around the life you actually want.

We keep the menu short on purpose. Four services cover almost everything a household needs, and each one ends with something written down that you keep.

Retirement planning

For people who have saved and now need to decide. We build a year-by-year projection from your real spending, test it against weak markets and long lifespans, and land on a withdrawal plan you can follow.

  • Spending baseline, including the irregular years
  • Projection to age 95 under several market paths
  • Withdrawal order across taxable, tax-deferred and tax-free accounts
  • Social Security timing compared side by side
  • What happens to the survivor, and to the estate

Investment management

For people who want the portfolio to serve the plan rather than the other way around. We do not trade on headlines, and we do not chase performance.

  • Asset mix sized to your horizon and tolerance for drawdowns
  • Low-cost, diversified funds with a written rationale
  • Rebalancing on a schedule, and only when needed
  • Cost and tax drag reviewed every year
  • Plain statements, not a hundred pages of holdings

Financial planning

For the years when several decisions land at once: a sale, an inheritance, a divorce, a parent who needs care, a job that ends sooner than planned.

  • Cash reserve and debt strategy
  • Insurance review — what you actually need, and what you do not
  • College funding versus retirement funding, ranked honestly
  • Equity compensation and business sale proceeds
  • Estate and beneficiary check, coordinated with your attorney

A second opinion

For anyone who already has an advisor or a plan and wants an independent read before signing. Fixed scope, fixed fee, and a written summary you can act on immediately.

  • Full fee and expense audit of what you own
  • Portfolio risk versus what the plan requires
  • Product review: annuities, permanent life, private funds
  • A written list of what we would change, and why
  • No requirement to become a client

How we get paid

Fee-only, flat annual fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. The fee depends on the complexity of your situation — how many accounts, entities, tax years and moving parts — not on how much you invest with us.

That last part matters. A percentage-of-assets fee quietly rewards an advisor for keeping money invested when paying off a mortgage or spending it on a roof might serve you better. A flat fee removes the argument.

The first call is free and carries no obligation. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you on that call and point you toward the kind of help you actually need.

What you get, every year

  • A written plan and a one-page summary of the decisions in it
  • Two scheduled reviews, plus calls whenever something changes
  • Rebalancing and portfolio oversight
  • Direct access by phone or email — no call centre
  • Coordination with your CPA and attorney when it helps

Common questions

Is there a minimum portfolio size?

We work with households who have investable savings and a real decision in front of them. There is no strict minimum, but the fee is built for people with enough at stake that a written plan changes the outcome.

Do you sell insurance or annuities?

No. We do not sell products and we do not receive commission from anyone. If an annuity or a life policy genuinely fits your plan, we will say so and tell you where to buy it at the lowest cost.

Can you work with my existing accountant?

Yes, and we usually prefer it. Retirement withdrawals and Roth conversions go better when your tax preparer and your planner are looking at the same numbers.

How often do we speak?

Twice a year on a schedule, and as often as needed when life moves. Most clients call once or twice between reviews, usually with a decision rather than a market question.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

Tell us what you are deciding. We will tell you whether a plan, a portfolio review, or nothing at all is the right next step.
